Knits for Christmas 2010
For Christmas this year I did a bit of knitting. For my sister Nina and my brother in law Damien I made his and hers scarves with personalized embroidery. For Joe I made a beer cozy featuring his favorite football team, Penn State. It is more successful at keeping his hand cozy than his beer, but a bottle sure looks handsome in a turtleneck.
The Royal School of Needlework Certificated Course Studies
I spent the month of July 2010 at Hampton Court Palace learning new skills with The Royal School of Needlework. I studied Jacobean crewel work (left) and silk shading (right). It was an amazing experience; I met so many fantastic artisans. I look forward to completing my certificate next summer when I return.
